My daughter started going here, and I soon transferred over as well. I was impressed with the up to date equipment, and they can basically do everything in the office without sending you elsewhere. Both of the Dr. Skinner’s and JJ have always been very informational with every visit. I would recommend them to anyone.

Dental Emergency Questions?
We Have Answers
What qualifies as a dental emergency?
Extreme tooth pain, facial swelling, a lost tooth, uncontrollable bleeding, infection, broken teeth, and severely damaged teeth are just some examples of when you may need emergency dental care. If you’re not sure if your situation qualifies as an emergency, contact Skinner Dental.
I have a severe toothache. What should I do?
Rinse your mouth with warm water and carefully floss around the tooth to make sure there is no food stuck. Don’t put aspirin directly onto your gums. Contact Skinner Dental right away so we can help determine what is causing your pain and advise you on treatment.
Is it possible to save a knocked-out permanent tooth?
Yes, if you act quickly, your knocked-out permanent tooth can potentially be saved. Pick up the tooth by the crown and don’t touch the root. Rinse the tooth without scrubbing. Place it in a cup of milk to keep it from drying out and contact our office.
Is a lost filling or crown an emergency?
Although losing a filling or crown is not typically painful, your tooth can become sensitive and more susceptible to additional damage or decay. Save the restoration if possible. Avoid chewing on that side of your mouth and call our office to see when you can come in.
What should I do if I crack or break a tooth?
Rinse your mouth out with warm water and try to save any broken pieces. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your mouth or cheek. Don’t chew on your broken tooth and call Skinner Dental as soon as possible.
When should I go to the emergency room for dental problems?
Go to the emergency room if you are experiencing trouble breathing or swallowing, extreme facial swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, or serious facial or jaw injury. Call Skinner Dental in Murray for advice on other urgent teeth or gum problems.

What to Expect at Your Emergency Visit
Relief Starts Here
From your first call through treatment, we are here to help.
In case of a dental emergency, please call Skinner Dental right away. Describe your situation and we will do everything we can to see you as soon as possible. Until your appointment you should avoid chewing on the side of injury and use a cold compress to minimize swelling. If a permanent tooth is knocked out, pick up the tooth by the crown, not the root. Place it in milk to keep it from drying out, and bring it with you to receive prompt care.
During your emergency appointment we will carefully examine the affected area and take digital X-rays if necessary to determine what happened. We will do everything we can to alleviate your pain and explain your options for treatment. We will always recommend the best course of treatment to get your smile back to optimal health.
